programmer bully dog

Hello, I tried to install a bully dog power pup programmer today on 2006 f250 6.0 diesel and when I go through the prompts it asks me to turn on key at end to install. It comes up with reading of : downloader is installed on truck with this pn: vxcf9n4.hex please return to stock
That's what is shows on tuner and is not doing anything to truck. Wondering what that means or what to do to make it work? Help would be appreciated, thank you

Ok, a fellow worker gave me the power pup for free and had a hunch after trying it that something was not right when that description came up. I assumed that my truck still had something installed on it. Ive never used programmers and wanted to install tow mode. Do I have to get to other truck he "used to have" and return to stock or is there another way around it?
