7.3 SES light, power loss, no DTC showing

About a week ago the SES light started coming on when I accelerated along with the engine running rough. It would go away and smooth out after a minute or so and be fine but now it's running rough with the SES light on all the time. I have 1. cleaned air filter 2. changed fuel filter 3. changed cam position sensor. There are 0 trouble codes showing. If you guys can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

You certainly have a code if the light comes on. The reason you can't retrieve that code is because you're trying to read the truck with the wrong scanner I'd bet...

Our trucks are not, strictly, OBD-II compliant and a regular scanner is pretty much useless (cheap handhelds and free parts-store scans). You need different equipment.

If you have an Android device (phone etc) you can use the Torque App (search the 7.3 forums) to read many useful codes. If you're gonna keep this truck for awhile and do your own maintenance consider a professional tool like the AutoEnginuity.

But ya gotta start there, with the code, and stop buying parts you don't need
