power steering problems

Wonder if anyone can help me with this, 2000 f250 7.3. I just replaced the p.s. pump but have the same problem - no p.s. Could this be the gear box? If so, how do I get to it and how can I know it's the problem? Any help would sure be appreciated, I'm a newby at this. Thanks in advance.

Jus't read your post. I know it's almost a year old but I thought I would see if you found your problem. I'm having the same one. Have replaced the steering gear box and the PS pump and it still steers hard. If you have any info that might help I would appreciate it. I'm thinking maybe a seized ball joint or tie rod end, I will check those next. Thanks.
