Smile buying first diesel

hi guys i am new to this forum.I went out today and test drove 1999 f350 with a 8 inch lift and big tires . My concern with the truck was that it was kind of sluggish i have never drivin a diesel so i dont know can some one fill me in on how they run and are they comparable to a big v8?

Once they spool up they are better than a big block.

If you buy a tuner it'll really wake your truck up. On second thought, don't do that because once you get a taste of all the power that is hidden in these motors you won't be able to stop. LOL

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust system, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.
