help please, 7.3 hard start cold won't start warm

Hi, new here and could use some advice. I'll start from beginning. I just traded my 96 250 for a 97 350 about a mth ago. Truck ran great. Put 1500 miles on it already. I did oil and fuel filter change when I got it. Yesterday I took my neighbor to get a load of mulch. When I got back in to start the truck it just cranked no start. I replaced the ICP. Didnt work. A guy at garden center spayed a small shot of ether in intake as I cranked fired right up ran great all the way home. No power loss hauling 3-4yards of mulch up and down hills. Got home wont start unless squirt of ether. Then runs great. I checked wires, hpop oil level, relays, tach for movement, oil pressure, etc. This morning it started after cranking about 30 seconds, usually starts right up, and it ran great. I let it run for about 2 minutes and try again and it just cranks. Small hit of ether and it fires right up and runs great. I'm at a loss here, because when its running it runs perfectly. I don't know why it wont start on its own. Also no codes or engine light shows up. Any thoughts or experience with this type of issue would be really helpful. Sorry long winded, just want to give as much info as I can. Update. This afternoon truck started after sitting since yesterday. Was running good. I took it down the road about a mile, and it stalled out at a stop sign. It started back up on its own after a 20 second crank. Drove about 3 miles and it stalled out again at a red light. Wouldnt start by itself, but started with a small ether shot. Then ran great the 3 miles home. Got home sut it off and wont start again. I'm thinking possibly fuel pump going bad. Any insight would be great.

Ok changed fuel pump. Its still not restarting. I hate to keep guessing and throwing parts at it. If there is a bright side I'd think you can chalk it up to preventive maintenance. I started it up this morning and let it run for over an hour, just to see if it would stall out. It ran good till I shut it off. Then no restart. I think I'm going to rebuild the IPC next. Who knows at this point might be sticking and its about $40 to rebuild and to close to $200 new. Well as far as this site goes. No hello's or comments yet. But I'll keep posting atleast till I fix truck, maybe it'll help someone..
