2007 6.0 starting issue

I have a 2007 F250 6.0 FX4 with about 172,000 miles. I have done ARP Headstuds, EGR delete (freeze plug version), exhaust, and an EDGE CS programmer. The truck has a new trans, rear main seal, 58V FICM, and several new gaskets/o-rings to fix an oil leak in the rear of the motor.

Problem 1.) Rough start when it's cold and sometimes there is white smoke. The truck continues to run rough for the first 10 minutes or so.

Problem 2.) Windshield wipers will not turn off. It does not matter which position the switch is in. If I turn the switch on the wipers WILL function in that switch position.

I am mechanically inclined and I would like to fix one or both issues myself, but I am fairly new to the diesel world. Any help would be appreciated.

Multi-function switch is junk most likely for wiper issue. Where did the FICM come from and how old is it? Have you tested it? Is it only a cold start issue or does it do it warm also?

I will replace the switch. Thanks!
A friend of mine owns an automotive shop and had a few of these FICM's made for my and a couple of his 6.0 trucks. It's about 6 months old.

Yes it only does it when it's cold.

You need to physically test that FICM voltage while cranking. I'll bet it's no where near 58v. Anything below 46v is junk.
