Hey everyone. First time posting anything on here. Have had quite the fight with my 97 PS for a long time now. Hoping someone can help me out. Here is a link to a video showing exactly what my truck is doing on start up.
97 Powerstroke with rough idle problems...help - YouTube
Description:
Happens when cold or warmed up engine and in all weather temps whether it's 30 degrees or a 100 degrees. If I get on the throttle as shown in the video it smooths out and is fine. Happens almost every single start up. Parts replaced include : GPR, GP's, Valve cover gaskets(wires and UVCH) MAP sensor, CPS (Cam sensor), cleaned out FPR screen which was clogged by the way, ICP sensor plug is dry and looks fine. Unplugged ICP sensor while running and truck runs rough and dies with CE light so assuming ICP sensor is working properly. Partially cleaned IPR (did not take out of HPOP) Plug in seems fine. Heater element inside fuel bowl does work. Only 3500 miles on the engine oil which I use DELO 15w-40. HPOP reservoir is topped off. Bled HPOP lines but did not seem to have any air in them anyway. NO CODES and Buzz test was good. Fuel filter is fairly new too same with air filter. Plug in's to valve cover harnesses right and left side look good and plugged in all the way. GPR seems to work fine and will stay on for about a minute if block heater not plugged in. Truck is a mother to start if not plugged in overnight in barely 30-40 degrees nights. Replaced with FPR spring kit with the newer california spec spring and fuel pressure is pretty steady at about 70psi at idle. Have had this issue since I bought the truck almost a year ago. Straight piped one hundred percent with 3" diamond eye downpipe. Tried starting in Neutral to see if I have TRS(transmission range sensor) issues and still no difference. Truck runs better since replacing MAP sensor used to get 13lbs of boost now back up to about 15-16lbs. Please help. Open to any suggestions. Truck runs very strong other than this problem.
