99 7.3 sluggish and white smokes at mid rpm

I've recently purchased a 99 6 speed that runs great at idle low range ands once the turbo spools up. Right before the turbo kicks in it starts acting like its holding back, missing, and white smoking. Just wanted to see if anyone could help with this. The truck is also supposed to have a Diablo programer installed.

check for coolant leak possible head gasket. white smoke indicates you are burning coolant.

Thanks, turns out it was the programmer. Took it of and everything is running great again.
