7.3 dies when step on throttle

i have a 2000 excursion with the 7.3 in it. recently it will die when you step on the throttle, just like you shut off the key. took it to a mechanic he said it needed a cam sensor, according to the scan tool, so i replaced the cam sensor. next day started doing the same thing again. took it back to my mechanic he said now that the scan tool said the IDM was bad, so we replaced that, again worked for a day and then it started doing it again, plus now it only idles for a few minutes and then dies. anybody have any ideas?
