out of fuel restart
fuel gauge is getting worse, ran out again. this time having problems restarting. was able to restart right after adding fuel but stalled after about 3 - 5 minuets of running rough/sputtering to almost 2k with foot to the floor. ran batt low retrying, towed home charged batt, restarted with gas rag, sounded much better but stalled again after running about 5 min, no restart. could there still be air in the lines? should I gas rag it again? is there a better way? could the fuel pump be bad and still pump some fuel(to spit and sputter for 5 min)? please help me get it going THEN tell me how to fix the gauge.

what truck
this forum has model specific areas so those usually work better than the general section if you have a specific engine year issue |

What pickup do you have ?

the gauge can be tested with an OHM meter for all year trucks and the senders are easy to replace but expensive so it's best to isolate the issue
