Starting issue '95 F-350 Powerstroke
Hello!
I just bought a 1995 F-350 with a Powerstroke Diesel. When I test drove it and met up with the old owner to take delivery this passed Monday it started and ran just fine.
This morning I jumped in to go to work, turned the ignition on, waiting for the "wait to start" light to go out then tuned the key. Nothing...just a click. All the warning light lit up but the started did not engaged or spin. I tried this two more time with the same result....nothing. The third time I held the key in the start position for a few seconds and then the started spun and the vehicle started? Went to the gas station and shut it off, put some fuel in and when I got back in to start it, same result. It took a few cycles of the turning the key and then after holding it in the start position for a few seconds it started up.
Seems like a bad starter solnoid if it were a gas vehicle not sure if the set up is the same in a Diesel, this ine my first one ever.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for the help.
