HELP summer is fast approaching!
i recently purchased my first powerstroke and i am absolutly loving it! however, the AC isnt blowing as hard as it should.
it is a 2004 Harley Davidson Edition F-250 6.0L. the air coming out of the vents is cold enough but it doesnt blow very hard. on a really hot day it cannot keep up and i end up having to roll the windows down just to get some kind of relief. ALSO...... it actually blows stronger on the A/C setting than it does on the Max A/C setting... when i leave it on the MAX AC setting..., after a few minutes the air flow begins to decline and eventually i can barely feel it coming through the vents at all, until i switch BACK to regular AC setting then it picks back up (even then the air flow isnt very strong) i would GREATLY appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have. |

Have the refrigerant charge checked. Sounds like you may be low on refrigerant, in the Max AC setting you are recirculating cab air & have less warm air flow over the evap coil. This can cause the coil to ice over and further slow air flow to the vents.
Hope that helps! Good Luck! PS 1974 to 2007, refrigeration tech! Last edited by North Bend Stroker; 08-12-2012 at 10:19 AM. Reason: added info |
