F350 wont start.

I have a 2001 F350 turbo diesel 7.3L, its was working well until i had to replace the starter. While i was taking it out, it had a short out. I forgot to disconnect the batteries. Now i put the new starter in, and now all it does is crank, and no start. Can someone help me?
