08 F350 6.4L bad fuel economy

I have heard that the use of a programmer (like the edge juice with Atitude or others) will help to increase mileage (getting 11.7 mpg now), it is all new to me (my 1st diesel truck) I don't know how it works but want to understand it & know if it is worth it before I toss out the coin.
Also, does the use of this product void non-ford extended warranties?

Thanks. Jim Sr.

Well dont be buying a edge to help out with mileage for one thing. Get yourself a H&S mini maxx or spartan tuning, something with some custom tunes on there. Next would be to get rid of your DPF and upgrade the intake setup, but that would void your warranty unless you wanna put your dpf back on before you take it into the shop for warranty work.

I notice that your from the pac northwest? where abouts are you from?

Feel free to check out cascade coal rollers, all of us are from WA and OR

Thanks for the info on the mods, I do plan to get the DPF mod & tuner done soon, what intake upgrade are you talking about? Filter or actual aftermarket intake system?
Speaking of warranties, I have an aftermarket EXT warranty 3 yrs 36,000 miles bumper to bumper (107,000 miles when bought so there is no existing Ford warranty) Do they frown on Mods to the vehicle?

I am 1/2 way between Aberdeen & Olympia in Elma (right at the Hwy 12 interchange with Hwy 8), will check out the CCR for sure.
