before I pay $235.00
A few nights ago while driving my 2005 6.0 the WRENCH light came, once I got home I looked in the manual and all it said was" Limp home mode, take to dealership". I took it to the dealership and they want $235.00 just to tell me what it is. Anyone have any ideas before I drop the cash. Thanks for any help with this

do you have a way to monitor eot and ect? if you have the latest flash, if you are more than 25 degrees difference, it will throw a wrench light

If I get the lastest flash from ford it will throw a wrench light.

No, he's saying the most updated programming monitors the ECT/EOT delta, and if it's more than 25*F, it will limp it out.

Spend $160 instead and get a scangaugeII to monitor the truck. You could find the issue on your own and fix it yourself.

Ok, Thanks my fault. I am going to get this done in about 2 weeks.

Ford replaced my fuel pump a few weeks ago and that's when the light started coming on. Will it hurt the truck if I continue to drive it? I'm going to buy the scanner, thanks for all the help

The light isn't on for decoration.

You or we have no idea what's wrong until you get a scanner on there to see what the problem is. Any auto parts store should be able to scan it for free....Autozone, O'reileys, etc...

There's a chance that they might have reflashed it with the updated flash while it was at ford. And the wrench light will come on if it reaches that 25deg delta between oil temp and coolant temp. Like they said before, find a way to monitor your EOT and ECT first and see if that is your problem.
