The P1531 code means that accelerator pedal movement was detected during a self test this means a change in the AP or IVS circuits was detected. The lack of specific AP (accelerator pedal) or IVS (idle validation switch) codes makes this concern a little tricky to diagnose. Inspect the harness from the pedal assembly to the PCM. Disconnect the PCM and any other related harness connectors and inspect for damaged pins and corrosion. If your truck has adjustable pedals inspect the harness VERY carefully around the accelerator. Some of these trucks had unsecured wiring that could chafe and cause short or grounded circuits... I don't recall at this moment what model years that was though.

If you have access to a scan tool that will allow you to monitor the AP and IVS voltages you can monitor for an erratic signal and perform a wiggle test - move and squeeze the harness while looking for changes in those signals.

Good Luck.
