No base oil pressure
I started a thread and got some good advice but still lost, I replaced my LPOP, relief valve and still get no oil from the test port, does anyone have any suggestions? Do these pumps need to be primed somehow or do they self prime?
I also have the IPR out while I was cranking the motor, with no oil from there as well... ??? I guess cause I have no base oil? HELP! |

All you have to do the prime the LOP, is dip the gear assembly in oil when you put it together.
Always possible that the oil pickup in the pan is loose, or cracked and sucking air i guess. |

thanx everyone for the advice, I got her goin today, took about three long cranking times to finally get oil to come out of the cooler test port, put a gauge on it and got 60psi...
thanks to all who responded to my threads... looks like the LPOP was the problem and now I've got base oil pressure, tested the ICP with a gauge and had 700psi, put everything back together and fired it up... runs like a champ, it does seem a bit hard starting but its seems to be getting better, I guess when I lost the LPOP the HPOP went dry, hope it will clear up after driving it for a while... |
