headlights causes downshift

Hello !!! I am new to the forum. I have a 1997 f250 diesel. The problem I have is electrical. While driving, I turn on my headlights and my transmission sounds like it just geared down. It is the same sound as if you driving and touch your break pedal and the torque converter kicks in. When the headlights are on, my turn signal will not blink. When the lights are off, every thing is fine. Can anyone get me started in finding this problem! Thanks for all your help!
