so is it pretty safe to say that the '04 f250 superduty with the 6.0 powerstroke is a guaranteed p.o.s. ?

isn't there some kind of class action law suit that has been initiated for the 6.0?

ummm no? Do research on the site for a couple days and then youll know more about them. Theres just a few things you have to take care of, and they will be very reliable. I had to put decent money in mine once I bought it, but now it's reliable as crap.

Studs
EGR delete
Coolant filter kit
Flush everything out and make sure you have new fluids in everything.
Maintain everything and your truck will take care of you.

whew! right on. cuz i just bought one and everyone i have ever known that has had one has never seemed to have any trouble, but then i read all these horror stories and got me worried cuz this is my family's only ride at the moment. i live in cali, egr delete legal? and will it help to baby it until i can afford to put in something like "the total solution" from p.m. mfg? sorry for the "needless questioning" just didn't have much time today for digging today. thanks for the advice and i'll try to figure this board out. my 4x4 wire bbs is a lil different although i'm sure basically the same, so i will try to research fix's as time allows.

I would NOT delete your egr if you live in california. Unless you got a big wallet to pay off the employees at the local emissions place haha.

Id go with a Bulletproof Diesel EGR.
