Information please

Hi,

I have a 1999, f250, superduty, 4x4, 7.3 psd

The problem I have recently developed is erratic shut off. It seems to do it at low speed typically when I am on the rough gravel road. I have replaced the cam shaft sensor twice in the past and many of the symptoms are the same. However, The truck fires right back up after it cuts off. Half the time the engine will start running again before it stops rolling. Currently when it dies the check engine and water in fuel light comes on innitialy but quickly go back off. In the past I used to have to let it sit a while before it would restart.
Another problem is that I have to pull the automatic shift lever up with my left hand while I crank it with the other. The cable does not seem to be stretched as the marker lines up and all gear positions engage properly. I believe it is the button or sensor for starting in park which is the problem. Does anyone know where that button or sensor is located so that I can replace it (stearing column, transmission, etc???)
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.
