Question 2000 7.3 Cylinder 3 and 8 contribution test failure

Hey guys, i have a 2000 PS extended cab short box and at an idle it feels like the truck was rockin side to side a lil more than usual. I hooked up to a snap-on modis pro and when i did a cylinder contribution test i had faults for cylinders 3 and 8. Somebody told me about the new CPS that the dealer puts in under recall could cause this, anybody have any advice? the truck runs great, it doesn't miss or bang at all i do have a superchips flashpaq on it tho

I have Auto Enginuity and get #8 comes up weak.... runs fine. It is usually just the CPS. The Grey and the Blue ones both cause it. The Black ones usually don't, but they also fail more and are harder to find.

Trying to find the write up that a guy did on all 3 of them... might be a few minutes...

Wow, that was really helpful bud. I really appreciate it. I guess i'll have to find the black CPS for mine. I tried callin the Ford dealer on it and like that post said- they won't sell it because of liability from the recall. I have the dealer- installed gray one now and like i said, it runs fine but it rocks at idle and failed the CCT test. oh well, thanks again
