Whiskey and a cigar next to a bonfire. I agree, though, that beer is tasty no matter the weather. My mom makes that "Apple Pie" stuff every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Good stuff, goes down smoothe and you don't really taste the Everclear much so be careful not to end up on your a$$ in Grandma's living room.

I like hot buttered rum as winter drink. To make one drink, rinse a mug in hot water and shake it dry. Put in one and a quarter teaspoons of caster sugar, one inch of cinnamon stick (or a pinch of ground cinnamon), a measure of rum and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Pour in hot milk, add half an ounce of butter, stir well and top off with a sprinkle of ground nutmeg.
