Made Chilli

Well today I had to work at the prison. So I decided I would take a crock pot full of my chilli, and some homemade corn bread. I also picked up a pumpkin pie and whipped topping.

Took it into work today, I call it a moral booster for us that have to work on a holiday. Needless to say I think it worked because there is no chilli left, hardly any cornbread left and some pie for me to take home.

I have worked every Thanksgiving in the last 8 years. Well every year I bring in this chilli and corn bread and this is the first year I have none to take home.

It brings good feelings to me, seeing how a simple home cooked meal brings some happiness to my co-workers. Knowing they missed out on a big feast at there house to help keep the inmates in line and to keep co-workers safe.

Just thought I would share this with my Org. family.

Actually the raging farts have already set in for me. I still have 2.5 hours to go until I go home.

I didn't think it was possible after the meal I ate today, but dammit Scott you've got me hungry again!!! Gonna have to make some chilli real soon.... I feel for you too, having to work turkey day. This is the first one in 8 years I've had off. Glad you were able to do something special with your coworkers at least to commemorate the day.

What else would I make chilli out of. I sure don't use beef. I used up last years venison burger for this.

Hey man I am sorry, but yes it is nice to have something. Christmas we do a pot luck. everyone brings in a dish to pass. We all make sure every one working is able to get plate.

Sounds like a good meal Scott.

We had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, chicken and noodles, sweet potates, some salads, etc at my moms today... was well worth the 100 mile drive!!!
