Pasties
Now I know there are a couple people on here besides me that know what I am talking about.
Since I been telling all y recipes I figured I would past this one on to you all as well. Pasties are a long time ritual of deer camp. What you need is Venison steak ( or chops ), Potatos, Rutabaga, and I use homemade pie crust. Now I brown the venison steak then cut it up into little pieces like for fajitas, cut up the potatos in a small chunks, the same goes for the rutabaga. After the venison is browned and diced up you put in a pie crust then you add in the potato chunks and the rutabaga. Then you fold over the pie crust in half then pinch the edge together, butter the tops, place them on a cookie sheet. I usually put 6 per cookie sheet. Put in the oven at 400 deggrees for an hour. MMMMMM good. I will be making these to put in the freezer in about a month. |

No No No A pasty (Cornish: Pasti, Tiddy Oggy, pronounced /ˈpæsti/ (the 'a' pronounced as in 'cat'), or less commonly pastie) is a filled pastry case, commonly associated with Cornwall, United Kingdom. It differs from a pie as it is made by placing the filling on a flat pastry shape, usually a circle, and folding it to wrap the filling, crimping the edge to form a seal. The result is a raised semicircular package. That is what I am talking about. Dave probablly knows what I am talking about. I know Vitalidle does. |
