Whats On The Grill, Smoker Or Cooker For July 4th

Ok, whats everybody planning on cooking up for the fourth of July? I've smoked some butts already this year so I believe we maybe doing a ham this time. Hopefully we can get a lot of folks posting before & after pics with the cooking process they will be using.

Man, nobody is cooking for the 4th this year. Well our plans have changed, we decided to have a pool party. Now I am going to be smoking several whole chickens for the party on the 6th. This will be my first attempt at smoking several chickens at one time on my upright smoker, I will see how it goes.

I may have to throw the only backstrap I have left on there. Never smoked venison, I just hate for me to waste it if it doesn't turn out good.

WHAT? You all have crawfish up there? Man, I love them. I have never tried elk but did eat some caribou while stationed on Adak.

How you going to cook your Elk? Smoker? If you don't smoke it let me know how, cause I may do the one backstrap I have left.

The crawfish a very plentiful. I've got 5 traps that I use but the kids can actually out produce me. When they were just little guys they didn't have the patience for worm fishing so Id take a piece of raw bacon, a hook and a decent weight with a very light pole and those kids will be pulling them in 2 at a time! And the cool thing is when a crawfish finds food they actually send out a sound that attracts surrounding crawfish so the fishing just gets better the longer you stick around!
