Onion soup!

Learned this recipe froma friend about a year ago. Take a vadialia onion cut both ends off of it, peel it and take one end and cute an upsidedown cone out of it stuff it full of butter and a quarter to a half of a chopped up beef bullion cube. Wrap it in tinfoil and put it on the Woodstove until its soft. When it's completely soft but shredded cheese on it until it melts and enjoy!

Reminds Me of the onion soup We served at a restaurant I worked at
but it was served in a bowl with a slice of sour dough toast set in the soup and a piece of 1/2 thick
mozzarella (IIRC? it was white) over the entire top of the bowl and browned to a slight crust

Venison would be great, I only have one back strap left in the freezer. We will give it a shot when we head out camping at the end of July.

I haven't bow hunted in many years, just blackpowder and rifle now. I got two nice does last year. I didn't seen any big bucks to shoot, I let them walk and maybe this year I will see them.

Ok, I have to say we tried this recipe for onion soup on the grill Sunday night. Man it turned out well. We had grilled chicken breast, corn and the onion. The onion was awesome chopped up and put on the mashed potatoes.
