No muffler legal?
Hello. Moved to CT (Norwalk) a few months ago. Originally from West Coast, been out east since 01. Getting my first PSD in a few weeks if everything works out. Is it legal to remove the muffler? A truck I'm looking at, 96 f250, they removed the muffler when putting in the new exhaust. The owner claims it is legal and gets him slightly better MPG. I talked to a cop, and he say's it is not legal.
If it is legal in CT, how about when I drive through NY, NJ, or MA? Thank you, -A Last edited by Aminator; 07-16-2012 at 11:34 AM. |

But most good emission joints don't look for mufflers. They are interested in smoke. not noise. |
