Airline travel

After doing some research i am planning on taking my Glock 27 with me from Dullas airport to Dallas. As far as i can tell all i need to do is fill out a form saying the gun is unloaded, have it in a tsa approved gun case and get to the airport early so i can have the weapon inspected by a tsa agent and checked.Does anyone have any experience with this? I am going there for 5 days and i really feel naked with out a weapon and hey i`m going to Texas it`s like i would be the only one not armed right
Thanks for any help
Mike

Last time I flew you had to have it in a hard sided lockable case unloaded and locked. You need to tell the person at the airline counter you need to check in a firearm. Then they will have you remove it from your luggage and show them it is unloaded and in a locked case. They have a form you fill out and put it in the luggage with the gun. Then I have another lock to lock my luggage with and they take your bag away. Its not as scary as it may seem. Just a hassle. You can have ammo in the same case and bag just not in the magazine. Hope it helps and have a safe trip.

The info above is correct. I flew from Texas to Florida and did the same thing. They take you in a private room and you open the case for them and fill out a form. I would call whatever airline you are flying on and make sure they don't have any other required info before you get to the airport.

I believe it is on the airline website too. at least last time i flew with one it was but that was a few years back though.

2002 F350 7.3 4x4 SRW CCLB. GTP38R w/WW2 D-66, PIS 175/80 injectors, Banks Intercooler, 4" Turbo back Exhaust, PHP tuned TS 6 position chip, CNC 4 Line feed, International bellowed up pipes. AFE Stage 2 Intake w/ Dry filter. Banks exhaust break and smart lock. Firestone airbags. Trailready full guard front bumper. PIAA Driving and Fog lights. Micky Thompson Wheels.

Next to order, 6.0 trans cooler, and Sam Wyse Stage 2 trans.
