What kind of gun does your wife carry?

Wanting to pick something up for the wife. We will definitely try some different ones out to see what works for her, but I was just curious what other wives are carrying.

FEG PA-63. It's small and lightweight and fits in her purse easily. It is a 9mm, although it uses the 9x18mm Makarov rounds. She also has the upgraded recoil spring since the factory spring doesn't absorb quite as much force with the 4" barrel.

I bought my wife a 38 cal snub nosed revolver. Mostly for the simplicity. SHe shoots and likes my G30SF better though

She doesn't carry though, she took the class and the instructors scared them all out of carrying. With all the laws, and 'could happens'

I hear a lot of people say that, but to me I think about what "could happen" if she finds her self alone, in a bad situation, unarmed. I won her over quite awhile back with this video:

I never thought of sending that to her. I will now

Better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6

I like the LCP a lot, for it's size and accuracy

nobody who actually shoots it likes a Kel-Tec. You don't carry a Kel-Tec because you like it, you carry a Kel-Tec because your environment makes it impossible to carry a real gun.

NOBODY should carry a gun somebody else picked out for them.

Your wife needs to shoot a lot of different guns and decide for herself and NOT based on color or weight. She has to actually shoot it, a lot, before she decides. At LEAST a full box.

No lightweight pistol or revolver is going to be a good choice for a beginner, male or female.

To answer the question:
a Kel-Tec .380 and a Rossi .44 Special.

Semi-auto pistols are for people who like guns, shoot for fun, and care to learn the procedures. A beginner who consents to carry a gun because you want her to, should carry a revolver.

That just means that she gave you permission to buy a new gun
