Where to keep pistol in truck?

Where do you guys keep your guns in your truck and not get in trouble with them? I dont have my convealed carry yet, but ive always been told you can have it in the truck, if you get pulled over just sit it on the seat and tell them its there? Is this tru? What have you guys heard?

Currently, i keep my judge loaded and in the holster under my drivers seat unless i go to an event or something wherer theres a chance of getting broke into.

Usually ill have a shotgun of some sort behind the back seat but ive just stopped carrying that around beacuse everyone knows its there now.

Where do yall keep your pistols?

you should be fine.....As long as it is in the open AND empty.. But you should check with your state regs on that matter.......

under the drivers seat is not a good idea. best place for a pistol in the truck is locked in the glovebox. or in a case in the floorboard or something.

its laying in the case in the floor, its just under my seat.

i used to keep in the side pocket of my door but didnt want people seeing it while my door was open

Yup. The laws will vary by state, but in Fl. if you don't have a CCW permit you have to have it inside something (glovebox/center console/etc.) to be legal I believe...

Concealed usually refers to on your person. If its in the vehicle and you don't have a permit, it cannot be "readily accessable" from what I remember. I can't get on to look up the exact verbage though...

Again, the laws will vary by state. Like Florida, if you have a carry permit you can carry but not openly; the piece must be concealed. Some states only allow open carry and concealed is illegal (I think NY is like this, but I may be wrong).

so, i can keep it in my center console and be ok? ill check with a local officer in a little while

I don't know what kind of seats you have, but if you have the middle jump seat/ console, I would put it under the folded down jump seat. Easy access & concealed. Other than that, when I take mine, I put it in the cubby hole in front of the console. I have an Excursion so the console is different.

infront of my shifter theres a cubby hole, the judge wont fit in it but i might could squeeze a 9mm in there, the space under the seat that folds down to an armrest the gun would just slide on through and fall in the floor
