CC Placement

I have been shooting for years and own a few guns. I am planning on getting my CHL for texas. Yesterday I took my little taurus pt140 and (unloaded ofcourse!) placed it in my belt gangsta style trying to figure out a comfortable place to put a holster. I have one of those paddle style holsters I use when I go shooting but that will not be very good for CC. I found probably the most comfortable place was in the middle of my back or up front between my hip and my willy. Both places did not work well when I sat down.

Where are you guys putting your guns and how the heck do you sit down with your gun on you? or get in and out of the car/truck?

SOB doesn't work for the majority of folks and isn't the best tactical location to carry a weapon. What are you going to do if knocked on your back and the BG is on top of you? How easy will it be to draw from a seated position? How obvious will the draw look when you are reaching behind your back? That being said there are lots of carry options, much will depend on your lifestyle and mode of dress. I carry OWB at 4:00 with a quality pancake holster. The Bianchi Carryloc is by far my favorite rig and I have lots of custom leather. IWB has never been very comfortable, but when I need to dress up the P232 will ride in a Thunderbird cust rig by K&D holsters. Stay away from the cheap nylon crap, buy a quality holster and a quality gun belt, the belt is just as important as the holster itself.Stay away from Mexican carry and make sure the holster covers the trigger guard. PM me with any ? Also check out www.defensivecarry.com
