sweat rust?

I used to laugh when I heard people talking bout their CCW rusting from the sweat that gets on their gun while riding inside their waist band untill I saw a bunch of rust on the slide of my kahr yesterday!

Any thing I can treat my gun with to keep it from rusting? I usualy coat the entire slide with gun oil and whipe it off when I clean my gun but that obviously didnt help. The light rust came off prety easily with steel wool but I dont wana do that all the time or the finish is going to start to look like cr@p!

There are a few options available such as the ROBAR NP3 or Roguard. Both by ROBAR in Az. Maintenance to keep the rust from starting is just another part of maintaining a firearm. Rust prevent works great. I spray it on all of my guns and have never had a rust problem. Be careful with the steel wool. Try using bronze wool. Steel wool is made of..... steel particles. It will rust if not cleaned off completely.

The steel wool will also eventually dig into the finish, and like you said make it look like poo.

I would use a silicon impregnated rag. I use one to wipe all my guns down.

Wearing a T shirt and using a holster with a sweat shield is the best way to prevent this, as well as keeping a thin coat of oil on the gun.

Wipe it down with Weaponshield. Best CLP on the planet, hands down.
