you could always get her something like a hi-point 9mm carbine or they have them in a .40cal also its a tactical style rifle and they arent that big a buddy of mine bought the 9mm and it fits perfect in between the seat and center console of his 86 suburban

A rifle is not considered a concealed carry weapon. It does not fall under the provissions of a concealed carry weapon. If your buddy gets stopped and has that carbine rifle transported in that fashion. He will be taking a trip to the clink and he won't be seeing that rifle any more.

don't get me wrong yall, I am all about carrying whether you practice open carry or concealed. But make sure you follow the laws. I hate to meet one of you at my work. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind meeting anyone from the site. But I don't want it to be with those conditions.

Do you have to be 21 or 18 to have a handgun in your truck while traveling in Texas?

The law you all are quoting about the gun and ammo can not be in the same vehicle. Should have a repeal date on the bottom of it. Being that now Ohio is a right to carry state. That law is outdated and is either appealed or ammended.

What you heard about Michigan is false. It is Federal Law that you have to be 21 in order to purchase from FFL, 18 own/possess a handgun whether it is a pistol or revolver.

Oh by the way if you do get a handgun and you are found in possession of it. Guess what now you just committed a felony and now you loose all your firearms.
What about this?

Oops sorry I get confused with the purchase part and posessing. Yes posessing is 18. You just can't purchase a handgun till your 21. Which means if you are under 21 you can not buy it.

But if your parents choose to do so. They can do what is called a grey purchase. That is where they legally purchase the firearm. Then legally transfer it to your name.

But there is a catch 22 in this type of purchase. Which is most states require you to be 21 to purchase handgun ammo.

ohhh and about that law of guns and ammo in the truck....i talked to a sheriff and he said if the gun is in your backseat, front seat, gun rack in your truck...the ammo must either be locked up in the cab of the truck or can not be in there.....unless the gun is renderd un shootable aka take out the bolt or slide or what have you.....
