I got an issue with my Dell
Okay, I got a pop up window the other day that said Internet Explorer had updates ready to install on my computer. I usually ignore these but i hit okay and then my problem started.
My video settings all were changed after it installed this update. My resolution was now set for a blind person to read, my power down settings (stand by mode after 1 hour) no longer works...screen saver wont kick in and I can't seem to reset these things to operate right. When in the internet window is up, and I scroll a page, i get this really slow wave action going on that makes me get nausious after awhile. The entire computer seems slow like it loaded up some huge file that runs in the background. I later uninstalled Explorer and downloaded Firefox....that didn't help. Any suggestions of some screwy file or setting that this udate might have changed? Help please! It's about to go out the window in the yard! |

Did you opt for all available downloads? If you got updates that were made for updated systrms it could cause problems. If you have Win XP, you can back up to before you downloaded the updates or use your recovery disk. I would back-up all of my files first. I'm new to XP but someone should be able to assist. If you have Win '98, you can only go back 5 restarts in the past. If wou have '98 let me know and I will find the commands to help. |
