1 MBPS Is fine as long as you arent doing a BUNCH of uploading and downloading you would have to use a lot of internet say 5 or more computers before you would see a need for mmore bandwidth I have 6 computers in my house running online nearly all the time and VOIP internet phone plus video uplink on my home security system and I still havent stalled the 1MBPS
Hope that helps unless you just want to spend the extra money |

I use sat-net BUT you have to have an active account with them before 2007 So your next best bet would be dish's set up OR you could get a dedicated sat NET like
NowLeasing Wild Blue or Hughes Net Satellite Internet Service : HughesNet Wireless Internet via Satellite hughesnet <--- used them on busy days they suck or Satellite Internet Service Provider | SkyWay USA | $29.95/mo. Sky way new but havent heard any bad from them |

We tested satellite IP at my last company. It was okay, better than nothing, but not as good as dsl/cable. Big difference is latency, 1-2 seconds response time. It hesitates a bit, then a bunch of stuff comes through.
Also, satellite IP is more affected by the weather. We got around 85% uptime. Heavy rain can disrupt it, snow on the dish brings it down. If you have an old 7 foot C band dish lying around, you can mount the LNB on that and get much better service. |
