Best gaming system?

I'm looking to buy a gaming system for the family for Xmas and can't figure out which on to buy. I was gonna get the Wii so we could play stuff together, but I don't want a system that only plays sports and makes you stand up ALL the time. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I would say Xbox 360 or PS3 for a tie. The PS3 also plays Blue Ray DVD's so thats a nice addition. Wii are alot of fun too. A little more interactive so your kids may like that one a little more. I myself prefer Xbox 360

xbox 360 or wii. xbox live is kick *** and wii's interactive playing is sweet. If you have to choose xbox 360.

I got a 360 and love it, but i had to buy a bluray player, if your not used to a controller yet I would go with the ps3 if you have a hd tv, that way you already got a bluray player, but like i said, im used to the 360 controller, and wouldnt change. but for a new user i recommend a ps3

How old are you kids? for yong kids wii is the way to go but if they are older they 360 or ps3 one thing to look at is the games, some games are only for one unit.

my son loves his xbox 360, i got him guitar hero for Xmas. a think a Wii would be fun as well.

wii has some fun interactive games...i have a ps3 right now and i think im trading it to my buddy for a xbox 360...the 360 has better online play and more people to play against...the controler is different but it cant be that hard to get used to

yah i think it depends on how old your kits are....

we have all 3 systems and if im playing with my daughter were playing the Wii....

she plays some games on the PS3 like little big planet but the majority of the games for PS3 are for adult... 360 has some kid games...

also remember that teh Wii can play old game cube games so we have a bunch of those too... you juse plug in the game cube games to the wii

My son is 5 and my daughter is 18 months. Really wanted to play sports against him. I don't want him playing any of those gnarly violent games that are out there.

i would go with the Wii if you can find it.....

it has a lot of cool games that you dont have to be standing up like mario cart....

actually i would say that most of the games you dont have to stand up... its only the sports ones that you do....

the bowling, golft, and tennes games are the best....
