No, it happens if the computer was turned off without shutting down.

Computer detected a potential hard drive issue and is resolving it.

Yes, your hard drive is probably going bad. Time to back up files and budget a new hard drive.

Pick up an SSD, and use a new HDD as storage/backup. You will not be disappointed that you spent an extra $100-200.

Yeah. I definitely said that wrong!...I meant "effective and fun use". haha, either way, you can get all sorts of viruses, but it won't actually hurt the hardware in any way.
