Do any of you have recomendations for web design. I am lost when it comes to this stuff and I don't have a whole lot of cash either but I at least need to get an information site up and running.

have you bought the domain name yet? most places like godaddy.com will give you a free 1 page site with the purchase of the domain name.. that way you can eat least put all your info on the page....

when your ready to make a shopping cart you have a few options.. either pay a web designer to make one (at least 2k for the design and way more for inventorying everything) or you can sign up to some of the DIY websites... i opted for the second one

I have been poking around in your sight for a while and I like it. I'm sure it takes a lot of time to set up but is it fairly easy with the DIY?

I definately need more than one page for sure. I already have about as many products as 4wheelparts. I know I can't afford to pay someone to set something like that set up though.

I have a max of $2k to get something started. I also emailed Andy a couple weeks ago with no response. I'm guessing he's a busy guy.

yah i dont think hes doing sites anymore... i first emailed him last year when i became a vendor with no email back.....

i too have as many as 4wheelparts but your gonna have to pick and choose what you want on because it is very time consuming... my initial launch i only had like 200 products and with pictures and all the info it took me close to a month to get it done working on it at least 14hours a day.... oh and i went to school for design work so that def helped me out in the photoshoping ect.

im sorry to say that for 2k you wont get a lot done unless you do a DIY site...

i am constantly updating and adding new stuff but it takes me anywhere from 10-25min to put up each product

it wont be an easy task but its def worth it once you get it up and running... this is my cousins site that is done with the same software as mine.. he has like 5k products on this site (took a couple of years to catalog everything) Silver Image Racing

If your doing shopping carts, there are alot of different options, but the easiest IMHO is PHP, which you would need to also go.

OH, maybe you want to make it easy on yourself and use databases, then go.
