DVD-ROM won't read

Ihave a toshiba satellite model M35X. It will not read any type of disk in the dvd drive. The trouble shooter says its a COde 39, driver not there or corrupted. Can anybody help me?

go to Device manager, and right click on your DVD drive and go to uninstall, then click scan for hardware changes, and it should re-install the software for your DVD drive. Then restart your computer and check it. If that not work, you need to go to Toshiba's website and look for an undated driver........or.........go back to device manager and right click your DVD drive and go to properties, then click update driver

If it says the driver isn't present or corrupted and you installed a new driver, i would have to guess the drive is bad. You could try to update the firmware, but for the cheap price for a new one its usually not worth your time. Drives go bad
