Laptops

I need some advice on buying a laptop. I want something affordable, yet not a pile of crap either. HDD space is important, it will be used a lot for multimedia. Mostly movies and music. I also want to be able to play some games reasonably well. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so amazing graphics and all isn't overly important, but i just wanna be able to play sometimes without getting pissed off at lag. What is a good brand? Dell looks like they have some decent ones with specs that look about like what id need for about $500. What do you guys recommend? By the way, i don't want a computer that has all sorts of extra worthless programs on there from the manufacturer that just hogs resources, unless those programs are easy to remove.

Love mine, loved the one before it thats 8 years old that my parents still use.

Like I said in org chat, big things changed about 5 years ago for mac when they started running intel chips. If microsoft doesnt get their act together, they are gonna be the mac of 10 years ago.
