Register your doman name first, there are plenty of places to do so, Domain Name Registration at Joker.com, Easy to use Control Panel and Reseller API Interface, AlwaysWebHosting.com -- Premium quality, super fast, and super friendly cpanel hosting! v1 then you will need to find someoen to host it, most that do the reg. will host as well, point the domain name server to the host, build your website, you can do it with MS Word to make it REAL simple, or Contribute from Abobe, Dreamweaver works like a champ too, but is a bit more complicated for the new user.

Also check out 1&1 internet They have very good deals on web hosting, and if you sign up for a year you get some very decent software (Adobe GoLive) for free. Dreamweaver (used to be Macromedia, now is Adobe) is very good software as you can easily program Java, Coldfusion, XML, etc. but it takes a lot of time and work to learn it, even to make a basic site. If the terms I just spouted out don't make any sense to you, I'd go with GoLive or even some of the canned website building packages that various hosting services offer.

Will,

If you are going to create it yourself, and you are used to using MS Word, then MS Frontpage is right up your alley! You can go to this site, and they can register, and give you enough space for a small webiste. siteloutions.com It is like $20 to register a name, and host a small site for a year. I have used them for like three years, and they are good!

Good luck,
Bob!
