Ok so what do you do with
Those huge servers? I was looking at the other two threads here and understand that you(Rod) do server IT for a living. But what could you and J need with those at home? The only people I know that possess that high end of stuff at home use them for gaming servers. IE Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, etc. I play a lot of DOD and wouldn't mind having my own server system but doubt I would need near what Rod has.

Honestly I think it's a power thing for Rodslinger to have a server like that!

Dammn I'm late! How did I miss this thread?
Well it's a good question.........The big server mainly now day's is strictly for storage, redundancy and all my backups are run off of there. I have a ton of data that is stored there that I'll move back and forth from my FTP and now my WEB servers. It's got plenty of processing power but I don't even use 1/10 of it. My other two smaller servers do 99% of what I do. The networking equipment....well that's what I do every day so it's WAY friggin overkill to have a network better than most companies at my home but non of this equipment cost me a dime. I've got the equipment, I design and implement these things for a living, so I figure why not have one at home I can test and tune with. It would be like being a drag racer and having a 1/4 mile track in your back yard. Kinda cool though isn't it. And yes Tif it is a power thing!
