Found an Anti-Virus product that I can TRUST

Just like the title says, I have finally found an Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware product that I can trust and for $50, I can protect an unlimited number of computers at my house. It's called Vipre Anti-Virus and it is from a company called Sunbelt Software who was recently acquired by GFI software. As a long time Norton user, I thought we were being protected. Then, several months ago, my son started complaining about his laptop not working properly, getting random pop ups, etc, so I decided to try it out. It found 15 different infections with several trojan programs running in the background.

Anyway, we have been running it ever since and each subsequent scan only yields a handful of tracking cookies and NO additional infections. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome of this decision.

says it only protects 1 computer.. am i missing something? Id like to change from Norton, since it expires in 3 days..

Go to the buy now tab and it will allow you to select 3 or more computers. BTW, if you don't have an SPI firewall (Stateful Packet Inspection), I would strongly recommend the Premium software with Firewall built in.

Shawn it claims to not slow the pc, is this true?

I haven't seen any negative impact from it just sitting in the background. It does slow it just slightly when running a scan and doing other things. It's not nearly as bad as Norton (or even McAfee...

)

i like AVG by Grisoft. runs very well for a free AV. and their pro version is cost effective IMO.

i hated norton and will never use mcafee. i was using spyware dr with antivirus for a while. got a deal to try norton 360. it didnt slow anything down. didnt stop anything either. it has stopped all kinds of worms and antiviruses and i will continue to use it. i do run spybot as well.

I'm no 'puter wizz kid,....wonder how this is, compared to the webroot I'm using now?
