Guys,
I want to share something I have built that you might find usefull. Before I tell you what it is, let me explain how it is that I came up with this idea.
I have two waverunners and one of the motors on one completely blew up on me. So I started trying to find out how much a rebuilt motor was and it turned out to be more than what I wanted to spend. Then it occured to me that I might just look somewhere like craigslist and find a used motor. I looked every day for almost a week and a half and nothing. The odd parts here and there but nothing that I could use. I stopped looking for about three days and when I searched again, I had missed out on a guy who was going out of business and was selling a 701 motor rebuilt completely for a very good price. I Called the guy and he had already sold it. So basically I missed out on an opportunity to purchase a really nice motor for a very reasonable price just because I stopped searching on Craigslist for a few days.
This is how I came up with the idea that I didn't want to loose out anymore on any item I was looking for. So I sat down and started thinking of how I could program this; by the way I am a web developer so this was right up my alley.
I came up with a system, with the help of a friend, that searches through all these different sites looking for the iems you are need of. Once it finds it, it will notify you and if it doesn't it keeps looking for you. It will continue to look for the items until it times runs out, which can then be reset to continue to look.
If you are thinking that this is a gimmick, it isn't. I am posting this so that you guys can take advantage of what I have built. I know that alot of you guys are always looking for parts in different places since I do the same. I don't want you to miss out on a good deal.
Try it! I have
no intention of making money on this or anything like that.
It is a free service and I had the spare time recently to do it so its there for you to use if you like. Just signup with your name, email address and that is pretty much it.
Check it out. I guarantee you that it will be worth your time. I never actually purchased a motor from craigslist but I did eventually get a bunch of parts from the service reminding me.
You can go the website at YoMinder.com (The search, find and remind service)
I hope you guys enjoy it and if you find major problems let me know. If you find minor problems, don't forget that its free.
