Apple's are nice but spendy. And you have to dual boot windows if you wanna run any decent software

If you like apples, go for it. But they are rather pricey

I have a Sony Vaio sitting on my shelf, it does a good job of holding down my papers

I bought an HP this summer and never looked back
I havent had any issues out of this on yet, but its pretty new. Its a dell Precision M6400.
I really like the HP's they seem to have less issues than any of the others.

We had a temporary casino set up and I used HP laptops for the Point Of Sales. They ran 24/7 for about 2 years.
The vast majority of them still work great

Asus laptops are real nice, toshiba's are usually underpowered, sony is good but overpriced for what it is. I have a dell I bought refurb. Studio 15, it is pretty good for a $400 computer with excellent graphics card and memory. The best bang for the buck is either a hp or an acer. Acer now has laptops w/ 8 hour plus batteries and they aren't too expensive.

I have a apple macbook that I bought for college. I've had it for 3 years now with no problems and the battery is still doing good. My roommate can barley use his HP without the power cord now.

Apples are a freakin gimmick. I absolutely hate them. I've had several laptops, including Dell's and I've never had a problem with them. I just got a Asus Netbook and love it and I use it for school. Toshiba's are good, Dell's are good, Asus makes some good Laptops as well as Sony.

I also just installed Window's 7 and it uses a fraction of the computing power of Apple's OS and or Vista.
