Avoiding the DMV

I hate the Denver DMV with a passion. Normally on my car I just renew online, simple and easy. But I can't do it with the PSD because it says an emissions test is required.

But I got a 'renewal card' in the mail, and it says to send in a check for the amount listed. So, what if I send the check and attach my emissions form? Do you think they'll process it?

Try it, the worst thing they will do is tell you to bring the truck in. Just keep your payment stub or check duplicate to show you have paid.

I typically don't ever have to physically bring the truck in. In CO we get our emissions tested at 3rd party shops certified by the state. So I just have to bring my checkbook and my emissions certificate to renew. I'm just trying to avoid having to sit in DMV hell for 2-4 hours during my workday.

Lol, I can relate after living in california. I use to bring lunch with me and sometimes a toothbrush.

As long as you submit proof of emissions test you can mail it in.

I asked this question today at the DMV, lady said that next time I can mail it. Just have to send in the payment with the renewal card and the emissions cert.

BTW went to the one in Adams county, no waiting at all. First time I've ever experienced that.
