Colorado Springs

Howdy all,
On our trip to Kansas we are going to shoot over to Colorado Springs and see some sites. Other than the usual sites to see anything that the locals know about that is a must see?
What's a good economical place to stay?

Thanks,
Craig

Nothing out of the ordinary, but make sure you take a drive up to Pike's Peak and check out NORAD at Cheyenne mountain. I think they still do tours...

I'm jealous. Haven't been through Colorado in about 3 years. Beautiful country. If I could get the wife and kids to go along with it I'd pack us all up and head for the rockies at the drop of a hat.

Cave of the Winds is really neat. Its a big cave that snakes all around in the side of a mountain and something interesting about it is that it stays 54*F year round.

We'll have to check that out (cave of the winds). Thanks for the input.

They shut the Mountain down for tours after 9-11 I think

I don't know much about CO, Springs, except its a strong conservative stronghold here and it's freaking huge too. Takes 10-15 minutes to weave from the north end to the south end, on the hwy!
