ATV choice Help
Ok guys,
I got some money and i'm looking for a 4x4 atv. I am thinking of nothing less then 420-450cc, hopefully something around 500-600cc Budget around 3-5K (No more then $5,000.00) I was always told to go with Honda or Yamaha. (I do not disagree) but have started running into many Polaris ATV's... what are your guys opinions on them. I also found some and if you guys could look at them at give feedback and help that would be greatly appreciated If you guys know of any for sale in WA, OR, ID areas please let me know as I will look at them for sure. here are the links to the ones I have found... please help/comment on quality, price, deal or ripoff, ANYTHING. I have 2 Honda foreman 500s. One is stock with a plow an the other has a small adjustable lift as well as aftermarket wheels and tires. I have used and abused the hell out of them both and they have been as dependable as ever. Not saying they are right for you but they are Definitley worth a look. And as for keeping up with the competition I have hung right beside all of my friends with their Polaris and Yamahas

I had a Yamaha Big Bear and an Arctic Cat 400...hands down the Arctic Cat was a beast! Definitely a tractor and went everywhere my buddies went with their big ol Brute Forces, Outlanders, and Grizzlys. I've since sold it (paid off bills) but when I do get another bike this summer..it'll definitely be an Arctic Cat!!

I hadn't heard much about them either before I had one. After a closer look and more research, they turn out to be pretty stout bikes. Only thing some people don't like about the is the gearing...but that changes from quad to quad...it's personal preference. I loved mine!

Those are some steep prices for the polaris. Those bikes would have to be in prestine condition to pull 5K, Maybe they still owe a bit too much on them?
For the money the big bear looks to be a pretty good buy. 2500 with the plow might be more realistic. I know it's hard to find a book value on these things as wear and tear are a big factor. I have an 07' can-am 400 H.O. XT 2-up and I love it. plenty of power and I just don't get stuck. My pal has a Artic Cat 650 with the dump box on it and that thing is a beast also. |
