Okay maybe I am the only geek that likes it, but I keep track of the earthquakes up here. It is kind of interesting to watch the webicorders on St. Helens.

I get tsunami / earthquake messages text to my cell from NOAA. It is for the Pacific rim.

Here is how i got it on my phone.

So - how to get tsunami alerts via cell phone text message (SMS):

1 - figure out your SMS "e-mail" address from this page:
SMS gateway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2 - enter the e-mail address on this page: (You will probably want the alerts only and short text)
West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Information

Ho by the way, i have recieved 94 so far and the first was May 2 2010! And the biggest was a M7.6 at Vanuatu Islands!

I got it all set up. I set my threshold at 3.0 day and 4.0 night.
