Spring's Strong Mayor
As a result of the voters passing 300 last november the city is now going to elect a strong mayor....Seeing as I work for the city I have been looking into all of that info, here are the links to each ones web site.
Please Comment on them and their issues......this goes for not only springs folks but all yall Colorado Springs Mayor | Elect Brian Bahr, About Brian Bahr Kenneth Paul Duncan for Mayor - Trust Again - Basic Information Issues | Buddy Gilmore For Colorado Springs Mayor http://www.mungerformayor.com/vision I have my own option, just want to see what yall think and see what yall's options are. PS just please don't vote for Mr. Duncan, it could cost me my job, and many other public safty jobs and hurt the city. See Nick I am a voter and a smart one at that, I do the looking and pick the least worst one most of the time. ![]() |

Calm down dude, I just saw this thread. Maybe you should post a link to it in the chat thread.
Anyhow, thanks for posting the info Dannan. I know there are more candidates than the ones you posted. Seeing how this will be the election for Colorado Springs first actual mayor, I think it is very important to vote. I still need to research some more stuff, but as of now, I have been leaning towards Gilmore. I like his military background and approach and ideas to small business. |

For the last year thats all I have done for the FD once I started, is bring back in stuff that was done "outside". like fertilizing, mowing here at the HQ, sprinkler work, and just being the general handy man.
so for all of those (what is 95% of what I do) they all could be eliminated/contracted out again like they where. and after that they could say......now that you dont do much anymore we eliminated your position. even though having me do it in house saved the FD $5,000 last year alone. under his way of thinking it dont matter. and he has pushed that quote I put up alot more in his "town hall meetings" type of stuff more than he is putting on his site. |

But wouldn't it make other bid on the job, and if it was still less costly to have you stay and perform the job, then your position would be kept?

you would think so. but if he/his people look deep enough then they will farm out my job(s) just cause it is also part of the "transparency" (sp?) of goverment thing he is talking about an "the government should never be in compition" with the 'outside'

I can see both sides of the topic.
So who do you think the best choice would be then? |

Dont like any of them really bu the least worse one is, either Munger or Bahr. they both have points that I don't like but those are the two least worse. and also as of the last whater pole are the two front runners, thats also why I am looking at both of them closer.
